DON’T BLUNDER
Design-based chapbook exploring the worlds between image and word, chronicling the intimate and reflective process of self-discovery.
at the time of making this book i was taking music classes, not practicing nearly enough, and always circling my thoughts. curious as to why reading music was such a challenge, i came across the term “dysmusia” - a difficulty or inability to decode musical notation; similar to dyslexia.
i, as my thoughts, went on a hunt.
i became curious of the mechanics of information processing: eye movements; symbol recognition; ascription; memory etc, i became certain hyper-stimulation impacts recollection, and i carried an urgency to announce the ever-present possibility of a breakthrough. so i began to play, exploring ways i could make images out of words, stretch the eye to prepare it to take in new perspectives, and use plain, journal-style prose to reflect and rebuild.
